£1,000 train fare

by Nicky

This is the most expensive train fare in Britain since the services began in 1825 - the return ticket from Newquay, Cornwall, to Kyle of Lochalsh, Scotland, costs £1,002!!!

With prices like these it is no wonder that people are unable to afford public transport and continue to use their own vehicles for commuting purposes!
