All of us at PJH Law were very disappointed not to win pleased to be presented with a Highly Commended Award in the Law Society Racial Equality Awards.
The award was for our elearning package and resulted in very favourable local and national press coverage. We are now able to use the logo you can see on your left .
This is the second award for the software.

This challenge, if successful, will have employment lawyers, hr practitioners and possibly the government tearing their hair out for creating uncertainty.
Before the ink is barely dry on the Age Discrimination Regulations, an organisation associated with Age Concern, called Heyday, has lodged a Judicial Review Application challenging the Regulations.
The nub of their argument is that the Regulations impose retirement at 65 which is contrary to the parent EC Directive.
The case is due to be heard on December 6th, so we will keep you posted when an outcome is known.
In the meantime the policy arguments for not enforcing retirement at 65 are at pages 8 and 9 of this policy document.

The EAT have decided in a recent case that religious ministers can be governed by an employment contract and therefore qualify for unfair dismissal and redundancy payments. The House of Lords had already established that religious ministers are protected for discrimination law issues.
We are keenly awaiting instructions from redundant rabbis, misconducted mullahs, and performance managed proctors!
