Two cases at the opposite end of the discrimination spectrum have been reported recently.
In one an account manager at a private club allegedly used by Madonna won her case for sex discrimination (and a £40k award) when she returned from maternity leave to find she had no desk and that her maternity cover was doing her role. You can read about it here.
In another case a pre-op transexual who moved from the US to the UK in the hope that the UK would prove to be more tolerant and liberal than the US, had his hopes dashed when his employer demoted him on finding out about his plans for the op. Further reading here.
