Dress Code In The Workplace
by Nicky
In some workplaces women are required to wear high heels as part of the professional dress code. It is argued by a representative of the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists that these requirements are directed at only half of the workforce as the other half are men (who don’t usually wear heels, at least at work). The TUC are therefore demanding that women be allowed to wear sensible shoes in the workplace.
It is reported that two million working days are lost each year as a result of lower limb and foot related problems, which arise as a result of wearing heels, and this equates to a £300 million contribution to the economy!!!
Isn’t that staggering?! For more details click here.
What are your thoughts? Is this report complete nonsense or do you have any experiences, whether as an employer or employee, that you wish to share with us regarding wearing high heels in the workplace?
