Names of Respondents to be Published

by Emma

Following a recent Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) decision it looks like the names of organisations involved in Employment Tribunals will be published again.  This was the practice until 2001.  The ICO’s press release provides more detail.

There’s nothing employers can do to stop employees bringing claims against them in the Employment Tribunal and we have all come across a few unreasonable and vexatious claims in our travels.  However, if an organisation has lots of claims against them it could be relevant information for prospective customers and employees.  I suppose it’s just something to bear in mind, particularly if negotiations are ongoing before proceedings have been commenced and limitation is nearing.

  1. Very interesting. Where would they be listed?

I have always been fascinated by the absence of statements about the quality of management when money is raised publicly.

I would be interested in cooperating on social media scheme. Any interest?

  2. Thanks for the comment. The information used to be kept on a register. I would imagine it might be available on line this time round.

  3. Nice Site.I will be visiting more often as you have done a good job.
