Police to cut overtime budget

by Nicky

The government are encouraging police forces to organise their workforces better in an attempt to save millions of pounds. The police currently have a budget of £6.2 billion and it was reported that £413million was paid out in 2007-2008 for overtime.

It has been suggested that £70 million could be saved by 2013/2014 if police forces organised their workforces in a more efficient and streamlined manner.
