Recruitment - The Apprentice Style - What not to say!

Regular readers of this blog may have read Tv Rant. For those that didn’t, the Apprentice follows a group of candidates being recruited for a job in one of Sir Alan Sugar’s companies. At the end of each show, one candidate is “fired”. Last week, in deciding which candidate was to be fired Sir Alan commented to one candidate, 23 year old Ghazal “I don’t know whether you’re just too young for me, i really don’t” when the candidate responded “don’t look at my age Sir Alan…..” she was interrupted abruptly in typical Sir Alan fashion and told “I’m talking now, I don’t know whether you’re too young for me…”.
Does this sound like Age Discrimination? How many readers of this blog would (post October 2006) express doubts about a candidate’s age at interview? Can a candidate on the Apprentice present a Tribunal complaint for Age Discrimination………
