Red tape costs for employers
by Sarah
British businesses are saying that the blizzard of red tape and taxes relating to employment planned for between April 2010 and April 2014 will mean we will be stuck in a recession. The costs of employing people must be reduced if the Government is serious about the economic recovery.
The cost of the 1pc increase in employer National Insurance Contributions planned for next year will cost industry £14bn alone. The changes to pensions in 2012 signal another cost estimated at £4.8bn, Agency Workers Directive £1.5bn and the Equality Bill £190m.
