Sex discrimination

by Olivia

As is often the way with high profile sex discrimination cases, the press take great delight in reporting all the ins and outs and what they perceive to be the juiciest details.  By means of illustration, I refer to the case of Jordan Wimmer and Nomos Capital being heard this week at Cental London Employment Tribunal as reported today in the Telegraph.

Miss Wimmers’ claims are in respect of sex discrimination, unlawful deduction of wages, unfair constructive dismissal and disability discrimination.  However, you wouldn’t be alone in thinking it’s more about escort girls, eating disorders and alleged hit men if you take at face value the news reports.

This case is very much being played out in the press and, unfortunately for employers, this is a big consideration when deciding whether to run a defence in such cases.   Nomos Capital may run a successful defence but has the damage already been done?
