The Employing People Campaign

The Government has launched an Employing People Campaign directing people to the business link site with free on-line tools and calculators to help businesses to understand their obligations and reduce duplication and cost. This is supposed to save businesses millions.
Employment relations minister Pat McFadden said: “Giving businesses free and clear advice cuts their costs because if they are getting good advice free from the government they have to spend less on outside consultants. It also helps make sure workers’ rights are respected.”
It sounds like a good idea and we are part of the “giving advice for free” clan with the free resources on this site including this blog. However, PJH Law don’t just tell their clients what the law is, as that is all very well but companies need more pragmatic advice. We know our clients and their businesses and apply the law to the facts and cultures. This is something our clients value and not something they can get from a text book!
