The hidden effects of stress at work

The European Heart Journal has reported on a study into the effects of heart disease. The study found that those with stressful jobs under 50 years of age are 70% more likely to develop heart disease.  Apparently a stressful job has a direct biological impact on the body.  You can read the full story here.   1. It makes sense that your job can affect your physical health in such a way. Even if you experience stress for a short period of time, it has a noticeable effect on you - you feel tired, anxious, and are more prone to catching minor illnesses. It makes sense for this to have detrimental long term effects as well.

  2. Yes even a day or so can affect your mood.
