Business immigration service

PJH Law has recently launched its business immigration service and can provide advice to employers and individuals on a broad range of business immigration issues including:

  • Who you can employ without any additional permission.
  • The formalities required when employing nationals from countries which have recently joined the European Union.
  • The evidence employers need to collect from new recruits to ensure they have the right to work in the UK and the new sanctions for employers who employ illegal workers.
  • The new Points Based System which is gradually being implemented and is already in force for highly skilled workers.
  • Work permits including intra company transfers and license requirements.
  • Visas and immigration issues for family members of migrant workers including third country national family members of European nationals.
  • Business visitors to the UK.
  • Permanent residency.

Advice:

We can advise employers about how to obtain immigration permission to work for prospective employees. We can provide immigration advice about the possible options open to individuals who wish to work in the UK. We aim to approach issues in a practical and broad way taking into consideration all possible angles.

Applications:

We can prepare and submit applications for highly skilled workers under the Points Based System, for work permits and for other relevant immigration categories. This will include the completion of the appropriate forms, collating documentation and putting together reasoned arguments in support of the applications. It may also include chasing up applications and discussing them with government officials either in the UK or at diplomatic posts.

Reviews/Appeals

We can help with reviews and appeals where initial applications have been unsuccessful. This may, depending on the application concerned, involve representation before the Asylum and Immigration Tribunal or judicial review.

Audits

We can carry out audits providing guidance on the documentation obtained from employees and their immigration status and eligibility to work in the UK – this is particularly important as employers now face severe sanctions for employing illegal workers if they have not carried out the required documentation checks.

Training

We can provide in-house training tailored to your specific requirements.

How do we charge?

In addition to charging on an hourly basis we may be able to offer fixed fees in some circumstances.
