PJH Law has developed an employment law e-learning package entitled Dignity at Work which provides an interactive training tool for employers to help minimise the risks of costly claims.
As a firm that exclusively practices employment law we have seen an increase in cases involving discrimination, harassment and victimisation. These cases, which, in one way or another involve an alleged violation of a person's dignity at work, could often have been avoided if employees had been better informed about the behaviour their employer expected from them. This in turn could have created a more productive workforce and a better place to work.
With a tide of legislation aimed at protecting workers, employers can reduce risk in their business through employee training. Having anti-discrimination or equal opportunities policies is not enough to protect employers from costly claims. By partnering policies with training for all employees, you are in a better position to defend yourself as an employer and pass liability to the perpetrator of discrimination, harassment or victimisation.
Our employment law e-learning package is a way of training with minimum disruption to working patterns and consequent losses in productivity. Employees can learn individually at their own pace, at any time and do not have to complete the course in one session. This enables you to take control of the training and fit this in with individual working patterns, holidays and absences.
Our ‘Dignity at Work’ e-learning package enables employers to show that they have complied with their obligations to train workers. The package features a user friendly 'back end', which enables employers to keep a record of each worker's progress through the course. It provides proof that the employee has received training and has understood the potential consequences of breaching the employer's policy. Central records are maintained and it’s easy to track and review each employee’s progress.
The employment law e-learning course covers all forms of unlawful discrimination, harassment and victimisation. It is also kept up-to-date, for example it was updated to incorporate the October 2006 changes to the law regarding age discrimination.
Each employee logs on to the e-learning package, so all you need is internet access. You will have your own designated site that can be tailored with your organisation’s branding and logos if you wish. It will also work best if you instruct us to incorporate your equal opportunities policy, which will also further minimise the risk of discrimination incidents once staff have complete the course. The employment law e-learning package costs are tailored to your requirements - please call us to discuss your exact needs.
